Looky What I Found!
In my Pool this morning....

Poor little guy was clinging for his very life on the pool sweep when my Mom found him. It right away reminded me of this:

Over the Hedge! Great movie actually, I was dragged into it by my boyfriend and another couple, but I really enjoyed it. I'd recommend it if you need a little giggle or a pick me up.

Update:

Bryce and I just passed a major milestone in our relationship, our One year Anniversary. It was very exciting, and since we are currently both broke, we are waiting until Monday to do an extravaganza of our own. I am very excited for it!

I just started working as the pool manager again and let me tell you, it's going to be a crazy season. I have a bunch of new guards and they work together really well, but let's just say, a couple of them have trouble listening to directions. Yikes.

My mom's heart condition is getting checked out here in a couple of days, and this house has turned into a no-red-meat-zone. My dad went and took the same test and learned that he has a Hs-Crp level of about 3, so he is amending his lifestyle as well. I'll keep you all posted as to their well being and such.

School is OUT! I have gotten pretty sweet grades this semester, except for one grade I am not too happy about.
Philosophy: B-
Speech: A- (MY FIRST COLLEGE A!!!)
Political Science: B- (Thank the LORD)
Biology: B- (Woo!)
Chemistry: C+ (Eek)
I have to say, I am pretty satisfied, but that C+ is going to haunt me for the rest of my days. I have had one C EVER in my life, and that was Calculus with the evil Mrs. Schaffer. Chemistry I am good at...Calculus I was not. So it upsets me.

That about wraps it up from this end. Back to you.

Year One: Almost Finished...

I have spent the past hour or so, bagging up my clothes and getting all of my belongings boxed up so that I can take a majority of my dorm room home. I am stoked to be able to get out of the dorms!

I officially move out of here next Thursday, so it is quite an exciting thing! I have to bring a bunch of stuff home this weekend because I am going home to take a class for my First Aid skills so that I can be the pool manager for the second year in the row.

My first year of college is almost done. My last lectures are tomorrow, my finals end next Thursday...and then I really do not have to come back to Chico until August if I choose to do so! My lease on my apartment begins June 19, so I know I will be coming up here and moving the big furniture in over the summer. Bryce and I plan to make a couple trips up here with some friends so that we can kick back in my townhouse apartment. I am so excited for it!

The end of this semester means that I have completed 36 units. Which is really something. I came in with about 13 AP credits, took 13 units my fall semester and 17 this spring semester. So, by next Spring semester, I can begin working on my Upper Theme work. This is considering my GPA allows me to stay in the Honors program. It requires a minimum of a 3.3 GPA...and let's just say I am scraping out a 3.0. I am not happy about it at all. I work my hardest in all of my classes, but it is so tough to take all of these classes together. This semester I took Principles of Biology, Principles of Chemistry, Honors Political Science, Honors Communications (Speech), and Honors Philosophy. It has been one of the most challenging semesters of my life, and I hope that I can get a B in each class. I think that I might even get C's. I hate this.

How the HELL am I supposed to get into Med School with C's?!
Someone...shoot me.

A Countdown.

As of 12:36 on April 28, 2006...

  • Only 4 hours until my weekend officially begins.
  • 2 days until Bryce and My 11 Month Anniversary.
  • 7 days until Bryce comes to see me in Chico, I get to drive his new car...and other things.
  • 2 weeks until I move a bunch of things back home. I have a class back home the weekend before I move out of the dorms, so that is quite convenient. I get to make two trips all on my own and I will be rid of this horrible place called a dormitory!
  • 2 weeks and 6 days until I completely move out. YAY!
  • 3 weeks and 3 days until I being work and finally begin to earn money again. Thank the Lord.
  • 1 month and 2 days until The 1 Year Anniversary of the best decision I have made in a long time. (Bryce and Me).
Needless to say...I am quite ecstatic about all of this. I love the end of the school year when there is nothing but excitement and you are on the brink of summer. It's the best time of the year. You really realize how great life is and how the little things should not get you down.

I'm sorry that I have been bad on commenting...and blogging...and being on here in general. I am back though. Get excited!

And the Hits Just Keep On Coming.

To begin, last night was not the best night. It turns out that my hometown county is suffering from an outbreak of the stomach flu. Lucky me, I never get affected by those outbreaks. However, my sister and my Mom both caught it.

With my luck, I caught it. Me, the never-affected-one. So I spent a couple of hours throwing up. That kept me awake for a few hours last night, and I was not too happy about it, because I was worn out to begin with.

Then around 8:00 am this morning, my Mom called and woke me up with some more news. She has a heart condition. It's called Highly Sensitive - CRP. (C Reactive Protein). Most people have about 1.0 mg/L in their bodies. People who have 3.0 mg/L are at a serious risk for CardioVascular Disease.

My mom has 6.0mg/L.

HS-CRP can cause strokes and heart attacks, by inflamming the arteries. My mom's coronary arteries are affected and she could basically have a heart attack at any time.

Basically all she can do to treat this, is take anti-inflammatories, lower her cholestorol, and change her lifestyle so that she is more active. She's going to lose weight, be more active, and take Omega 3 Fish Oil at a high dosage to try and correct her condition.

I am very concerned, because I thought she wasn't at risk for this kind of thing, and now that I think about it, my Dad most likely has an even higher risk for something like this.

I know there is nothing I can do right now, other than help them out when I can, and worry about the both of them. I just pray and hope that they will be okay and live a long life together. My sisters and I are not ready for either of my parents to leave.

So, yeah. My day has not been that fun. The only fun part...Friday's Chem lecture is cancelled. Yay.

This Weekend Was Just What I Needed.

Bryce is so completely wonderful. Friday night, he took me to my favorite restaurant (Olive Garden), then we got to watch a movie I have been bugging him to watch, and he was SO completely sweet about the whole night.

Saturday, we went on a double date with our friends Jarod and Jackie. We went to a movie-theatre-themed restaurant and then went and saw Take The Lead. Which is an amazing movie, I recommend it highly. We then went bowling, and just like in the movie American Grafitti, we cruised McHenry.

Factoid: George Lucas grew up in Modesto and based the movie American Grafitti off of his experience growing up there. "Cruising" still happens today, and the Police are out in full force every Friday and Saturday night.

Sunday, Bryce and I went on a bike ride all around town, and showed me the massive dirt tracks that his buddy left in the mud with his truck. Last Monday night, Bryce was flat on his stomach, in the mud, digging out Noah's truck by hand. His truck was stuck up to the drive line. (AND his truck is lifted...he got that sucker STUCK.) We had lunch at his house and then dinner at mine. Sunday night dinners are an occasion at my house. It is usually my parents, my sisters, Bryce, Dylan and I. This time, Megan had a NEW boy over for dinner, and Bryce had pledged to make it awkward for him. Haha.

Then this morning, I spent about an hour or two with him while he worked on his car and left for school. Got stuck in Sacramento traffic (UGH), which never happens on my route. I missed all of my classes because of that traffic, and now I am working on a Biology research project for my lab.

And on Thursday, I leave for home once again to go be a Bridesmaid at Allie's wedding. I am really upset that I can't make either the Bridal Shower OR the Bachelorette's Party. Really upset. If I hadn't had this project as well as an exam on Thursday, I would have been there, without a doubt.

And thank you, anybody who has been supporting me the past few weeks or so. I know I haven't been fantastic at commenting you guys back, but I am trying!
